Why is my Hijri age different from my Gregorian age?

A Tabular Hijri year has 354 or 355 days, while a Gregorian year has 365 or 366. Hijri anniversaries arrive sooner, so the two calendar ages can differ even though the total days lived are the same.

Which Hijri calendar does this calculator use?

It uses the Tabular Islamic calendar and the Hijri date adjustment in your calculation settings. Dates are estimates and may differ from Umm al-Qura or local moon sighting.

What happens if my birthday falls on a day missing from that month?

The anniversary uses the last day of that month. February 29 becomes February 28 in a non-leap year; Dhu al-Hijjah 30 becomes 29 in a common Hijri year. Each anniversary is calculated from the original birth date.
